My Coat

Hello Blogfriends!

Mr. Wolf has been home for a whole week, and he and I are having a very good time during the day. He lets me nibble his food, and snuggle on his lap while he works. It is so nice to have him home with me while JK is at work!

I also like that Mr. Wolf and JK take me outside together when they are home. I love walking around with both of my people! The only thing I don't like about going outside with JK and Mr. Wolf is that it is cold, and I still have to wear my coat.

Boo. The Coat.

Here is a closer picture, so you can see how much I dislike wearing the coat.
JK and Mr. Wolf tell me that I need to wear the coat so that I can stay warm, and the coat is warm and soft, but I don't like to wear it because it feels funny when I walk and makes it hard to turn my head and move my legs. I wear it because JK and Mr. Wolf like to go outside with me and I need the coat to stay warm outside.

Me, hiding from the coat.
I cannot wait for it to be warm again, so we don't need coats to go outside and play. What is your favorite thing about spring?

Laundry Day!

Laundry Day is the best day. JK likes to bring a huge armful of warm clothes or blankets or towels right out of the dryer, and drop them on top of me on the couch! I love to burrow into the warm, soft clothes and pop my head out of the pile.

This was a load of mostly red clothes.
Ahh... my fleece blanket is clean and warm from the dryer!

Valentine's Day Cupcakes

A Valentine's Day Poem
By Auggie Wolf

My people love me a lot
And it's easy to see.
They brought home some treats
that are pink, just for me.
They brought me a cupcake
With frosting so creamy.
Made safe for pups -
I must be dreaming!
You can see that I liked it
as I danced on my feet.
I hope that you too
had something delicious to eat!

For Me??

Some nibbles of wheat-free cupcake and a taste of frosting.

Love.

Pink Wheat-free Cupcake and Taste of Frosting
Rating: 4 out of 5 Cheesy Treats
Highlights: Just for me! Bites of sweet cake and licks of frosting
Problems: I wanted to eat the whole thing, but JK said she and I and Mr. Wolf would all share

Ate a Euro Breakfast and then I Moped

JK is afraid that everyone on BlogLand thinks that I am sad, cold, and hungry all the time because so many of the pictures we post are of me looking mopey. I'm actually pretty content most of the time, but I can't help it! It is cold outside, and I prefer to stay on my blanket or inside my cozy house.  I play when JK comes home, but it is hard to take pictures and play with me at the same time.

Anyway, JK has been eating yogurt for breakfast and sprinkling a little sweet on top like granola or cereal. She says it reminds her of breakfasts in Europe, which is far away. I wonder if it is warm in Europe. Maybe we should go there? Anyway, when she is done with her breakfast, she lets me lick the leftover yogurt out of the bowl because yogurt is good for dogs.

She is kind enough to bring the bowl right over to my cosy spot so I don't have to get up to lick the bowl.

Food: Yogurt
Rating: 3 out of 5 Cheesy Treats
Highlights: creamy, lickable, good for me
Problems: cold, not very sweet, JK eats all the sweet stuff before she gives it to me

But I know that after she finishes getting ready in the morning, she will leave for work, and so I get a little mopey:

I know she will come home again soon.  And my other person friend, Kari, comes by every day to take me for a walk. I like Kari, but I hate going outside on such cold days. At least it is nice to have a friend visit every day. Otherwise I just have Squirrel, Lion, and Shark to keep my company until JK gets home.

I miss Mr. Wolf

Can you guess what I am sitting on?

I miss Mr. Wolf very much when he is away during the week.  Sometimes, when I miss him, I like to find some of his clothes and sit on them. It makes me feel better to be able to smell Mr. Wolf's smell and remember that he will be home soon!

Hiding from the Snow

So, I'm ready for spring.  My feet do not like the cold ice or the painful salt crystals that lodge themselves between my toe pads.  That Big Snow was kind of fun, but now I just want it to melt. I can't find my favorite trees, and there hasn't been any food on the ground in weeks.  Just snow!

JK still wants me to go outside a few times a day, but I really REALLY do not like to go.  Today I thought I could hide next to Mr. Wolf's black and white pants when JK got the leash.  Unfortunately, she was still able to see me and I had to go outside. Next time, I will try to hide all the way under the blanket.

My Snow Mobile

There was a Really Big Snow in Chicago yesterday!  The wind blew and the windows rattled, and JK and I did not go outside at all last night. There was even thunder and lightning!  But I was not scared, because JK was with me.

This afternoon, after the sun came out and people started to move around again, JK's friend Jenn called and asked us to go with her to see the lake.  I was actually happy to be outside and play in the snow for a little while.

JK brought a special bag with a blanket inside to carry me when the wind was very strong and I was too cold.

Everyone liked to see me in the carrying bag.

The whole lake was frozen!
I was happy to be in a warm pouch for the walk home.
