Jackie Came to Visit Me!

(Transcriber's note - Aug started this post while Jackie was visiting, but I had trouble uploading the last few photos while she was here last week)

My friend Jackie came to visit me! I am so excited that she is here! She came to see JK and Mr. Wolf as well, but she has spent a lot of time lounging with me which I like very much.

Jackie hurt her foot right before she arrived, so we have spent a lot of time on the couch together. It's great.

Miss Jackie likes to read 2 books at one time.

She's giving me bunny-ears, isn't she?
Another great thing about Jackie's visit is that she also likes cheese. In fact, we all like cheese so much, that JK bought some special cheese just to share with her while she is in town. I had never had this fancy cheese before, but luckily Jackie shared with me.

You know what else JK and Jackie like to do? They like to sit out in the sun on the porch with snacks and cool drinks. Excellent. I like that too.

My my - is that cheese you have there?

And Jackie likes to give me pets and scratches while she is working on the computer. I'll just stand right here under her so she can do that.

Miss Jackie let's me share shot-gun with her on the way to the park. Whoo-hoo! The Park!

AND Jackie lets me get comfy on her lap for the drive home, even though I am all hot and sweaty from our long walk at Lake Lynn. She even let me stick my head out of the window for a second.

Jackie had something delicious to eat on her last day in town. I was very hopeful that she would share it with me. So I waited politely for her to put her fork in the bowl...

Ya done yet?

Hoooray! Success! I got to lick the bowl and she even left me a small bit of her tasty lunch to try.

And now Miss Jackie has gone home to Chicago, so I don't need wake her up in the morning with a visit and a pounce up onto the edge of the bed.

Boo. I miss Miss Jackie.
We miss you, Miss Jackie! Come visit again soon!

It was almost the best night of my life.

My friend Jackie came over to visit JK and me the other night, and JK had a present for her - a box of cheese! I don't know why JK had cheese for Jackie, but I got very excited when she took it out of the refrigerator. Jackie even let me have a few pieces!

JK put the box of cheese next to Jackie's bag, and then she and Jackie went into the bedroom to look at themselves in different clothes, and I knew it was my chance.

I took that box of cheese quickly over to my green blanket and started to pry it open with my teeth. I need to work on my sneakiness, because JK and Jackie heard me and came out of the bedroom to see what I was doing.

No problem, I just took the box into my house.

I almost had it!

JK usually does not come into my house, or take anything away from me if it is in my house, so I thought I was in the clear. No deal. JK reached in and took the cheese box from me. I was very disappointed.

What? No Cheese?
I guess it wasn't very good manners to try to steal Jackie's cheese away. I know how sad I am when someone takes cheese away from me. Jackie and JK gave me some snuggling and treats to make up for taking the box of cheese away, so I got over it.

But be warned: If you leave cheese where I can get it, I will. I am learning more about your tight plastic boxes. And next time, I vow success.

My Snow Mobile

There was a Really Big Snow in Chicago yesterday!  The wind blew and the windows rattled, and JK and I did not go outside at all last night. There was even thunder and lightning!  But I was not scared, because JK was with me.

This afternoon, after the sun came out and people started to move around again, JK's friend Jenn called and asked us to go with her to see the lake.  I was actually happy to be outside and play in the snow for a little while.

JK brought a special bag with a blanket inside to carry me when the wind was very strong and I was too cold.

Everyone liked to see me in the carrying bag.

The whole lake was frozen!
I was happy to be in a warm pouch for the walk home.

Road Trip! Part 1.

JK and Mr. Wolf and I just got home from a great adventure!  We all three drove a very long way to visit some people friends of JK in a town called Nashville.  I got to sit in the back seat and sleep or watch out the window the whole way there and back.

Getting Comfortable in the back seat.

Look at all that sky!
JK and Mr. Wolf and I went outside when we arrived at Kathi and Chad's house and ran and ran in the grass. That was really great.  I liked not being on the leash.

Nashville is not much like Chicago at all.  The houses have a lot of grass in between them, and there are no sidewalks to walk on in most places.  JK's friends Kathi and Chad have a very big house with many rooms.  I have never been in such a big house.  I guess they need more room because they have a little baby who is starting to move around.

Another thing I liked about Nashville and visiting Kati and Chad was that we ate lots of delicious food.  One day, JK and Mr. Wolf and Kathi and Chad brought home these giant cupcakes with big layers of frosting.  They cut them up and put them on the table, and I showed them that I really really wanted to taste them so I could review them on my blog.

Delish!
Food:  Caramel Apple Cupcake
Highlights:  Creamy sweet frosting, soft cake
Problems:  Not enough samples
Rating:  5 out of 5 Cheesy Treats!  This would be my new favorite food if JK and Mr. Wolf would let me eat them all the time.

JK's camera died before we got to take any photos of the second day in Nashville, but Kathi will send her some, and then I can tell you about the beautiful park and all the funny pictures we tried to take.  But here's one of JK and me that I like very much.  I look very handsome.

Big Party in Lincoln Square

JK and Me with Aaron

Last night, JK took me to a big party outside in a neighborhood called Lincoln Square.  There were lots of people there.  Some of the people were playing music and singing.  I liked the music.  I especially liked all the food at the party.  JK let me try something called a Pumpkin Donut.  I think that was the best thing I have ever eaten.  I want to eat Pumpkin Donuts every day.

I met a lot of nice people at the party.  JK saw lots of friends there, and everyone was happy to meet me.  I like meeting new people, but there were so many people there that JK picked me up and carried me around so that no one would step on my toes.  I like it when she carries me.  She even danced to the music with me, and I liked that too.

Her friend Aaron took a picture with us.  I had met him before.  He is very nice.  JK's friend Eric took this picture.  I like that their names are Aaron and Eric.  They sound the same, but a little different.  Luckily, they do not look alike or smell the same, so I can tell them apart.  Jessie was also there.  I like her very much.

JK and I went for a walk when we got home, and I found some popcorn on the ground, and JK let me eat two pieces!  Horray!  What a very exciting night.

Dinner Party

JK and I walked over to JK's friend Michelle's house last night.  I was very excited to walk down new sidewalks and cross new streets.  We passed by some good-smelling gardens and buildings, and I got to hide under a big plant when an unfriendly looking dog walked towards us.

Michelle's house is very beautiful and very clean.  There are no crumbs on the floor, or any tissues, papers, laundry, shoes, or toys anywhere to be found.  Michelle and JK ate dinner, and gave me a few small pieces of a very tasty soft cheese.  Then we all sat on the sofa and Michelle gave me treats.  She wanted me to sit on her lap, but there were so many people and dogs in her hallway, I could not sit down.  I needed to bark at every person and dog that walked past to tell them I was in the house, guarding my JK and her friend Michelle.

Michelle holding me in her very pretty house
JK talked to Michelle about finding a dog friend of her own.  I hope that Michelle does find a dog friend for her house.  She is good at making food and has lots of tasty cheese.  I am sure that she must sometimes drop food or cheese on her floor.  Any dog would be very happy to live with her.
