AugBlog is back! Easter Road Trip Extravaganza

Hello, blogfriends!

Mr. Wolf has been hard at work with the computer every day for months and months, so JK and I have not had much computer time lately to keep the AugBlog updated. But we're very proud of Mr. Wolf and all the great writing he has been writing. Take a look! This is his Very Important Paper:

Looks more like a book to me!
JK says that in a few weeks, this paper will turn Mr. Wolf into Dr. Wolf! I'm not sure how that works, but I'm very excited for him.

Mr. Wolf has been away from home for a little while now meeting with people and talking about jobs and talking about his Very Important Paper. We miss him very much. In fact, we missed him SO much last week that we got in the car and drove up to see him!

Time to go? I'm ready! Let's go!
It was a very long trip. I rested a lot. We brought my Halloween Squeaker, and I used him as a chin rest.
Sometimes the sun was so bright, I had to hide under the blanket to keep from cooking! But JK liked to drive in the pretty warm weather.

We saw some WEIRD things on the highway.

But we finally arrived! Hooray! Illinois grass!

Sunny snoozes with my people!

And Easter Dinner with Mr. Wolf, and JK, and Mr. Wolf's whole family!
I got a plate of salmon, mashed potatoes, and green beans!

Then, just a few days after we arrived, we were back in the car. It was sunny and warm again, which is good for driving, but tough for dark-furred Chihuahuas!

JK came up with a clever idea to help me stay cool in the car. She dumped out a clothes basket of clothes and turned it on its side in my bed. She called it my Pup Cabana!

Muuuuuccchhhh Better!

So JK and I are back in North Carolina, and Mr. Wolf is still on his adventures. We miss him a bunch! We may have to go visit him again soon!

Road Trip!

Greetings, Blog Friends!

My family has been on quite an adventure since the last time I blogged. JK and Mr. Wolf and I drove many many hours from our little apartment in Chicago to a little house in a place called Raleigh. I'll tell you the whole story, but with pictures....

First, I had to help JK pack up all our clothes and towels and things.
Yes! These are clean and warm and ready for packing.
Then, I had to stay out of the way when the mover men came to take all of our things out of the Chicago apartment.
Me, in the Pup Bag
I saw some CRAZY things that day while the mover men were working:
Whoa.
And then after all the cleaning and moving, Mr. Wolf and JK sat down on the floor in the empty apartment and had one last Deep Dish pizza in Chicago.

CHEESE!
Then, after spending the night at Mr. Wolf's parents' house, we got into the car and headed south.

I was the co-pilot in JK's car, and Mr. Wolf drove with his books in the seat.
It was a very very long drive, and I slept during times when I knew that JK knew where she was going.
Resting up to help navigate when she needs me.
We were going to drive straight through, but then JK and Mr. Wolf decided to stay in a hotel. The first hotel we tried was very yucky and smelled like old socks and sour milk. And the TV and internet were broken, so we moved to a new hotel. And JK and Mr. Wolf bought dinner from a place near by, and brought me a baked potato with CHEESE! My own little dinner.

I prefer my potato with both butter AND cheese
Then the next morning, we ate breakfast and got ready for the rest of the drive. JK brought me some apple and a tiny cup of peanut butter from the hotel breakfast room. Mr. Wolf helped hold the peanut butter steady so I could lick it out of the cup.
Breakfast of champions!
The second morning, we drove through some very pretty mountains and hills.
This is The South! And it is warm here!
And then we finally arrived at this little house, where we will live for a few months. JK and Mr. Wolf tell me that we are only going to stay here until we can find a place to rent for a long time, but I love this little house. It feels SO BIG compared to the Chicago apartment, and it has a long hall way to run down, and lots of closets for hiding my favorite treats for later, AND it has carpet on the floor so I can rub my face on it whenever I want. I love it here.

JK's new boss and his wife left us a care package of people treats for when we arrived in our new house. Wasn't that nice of them? JK and Mr. Wolf like treats too.
I got to share the apples!
So there you have it! Such a great adventure! I'll be sure to tell you all the stories of life in The South, since I know I have a lot to learn and many new people and dog friends to meet.

Sneakishness

JK and Mr. Wolf and I went on a looooong drive yesterday to visit the place where Mr. Wolf lived sometimes last year. Mr. Wolf was a teacher for college students at a school far away from Chicago.
I always wondered where he went every week, and yesterday I got to see!

Mr. Wolf had to go into his office to finish cleaning up his books and take things from his computer. JK and Mr. Wolf snuck me into the office with them! They hid me in a big blue bag from IKEA! I was very quiet, and no one noticed that I was in the bag. It was very fun to be sneaky.

Here I am with Mr. Wolf in his office.

I just sniffed around and played quietly with JK so no one would know that I was there.
JK said that I was a champ for being so quiet and silly in the office.
When Mr. Wolf was done cleaning his office, JK wrapped me in the orange blanket and carried me out of the office like a baby. No one saw us! Success!

Then we went to Mr. Wolf's little house and cleaned up around there. They used the big vacuum cleaner. I hate vacuums. But otherwise it was fun to play in Mr. Wolf's small house.

Mr. Wolf's House when he is not at our house.
I was also not supposed to be in Mr. Wolf's house, because the man who owns the house said NO DOGS allowed. But since he was moving out, we decided it was OK for me to play there for a while when JK and Mr. Wolf were cleaning up. And the owner is also on vacation.

It was a long day of sneaking! We had a long drive back, and I got to sit on JK's lap the whole time. I was worn out, but very happy to know that Mr. Wolf will only live at our house with us from now on.

PupFather's Day

JK and Mr. Wolf and I went in the car to Mr. Wolf's parents' house on Sunday. We went there so Mr. Wolf could celebrate Father's Day with his father.

JK and me in the car.

Snoozing with the AC blowing on my fur.

Mr. Wolf is a very good PupFather! So I gave him lots of kisses and licks on PupFather's Day so that he would know how much I love him. Happy PupFather's Day!

Lounging night at Mr. Wolf's parents' house

JK and I got in the car last night and I was very excited because I didn't know where we were going.  We drove for a long time, and when we stopped, HOORAY!  I knew where we were.  We got out of the car and I ran to the door and Mr. Wolf was there!  We stayed at Mr. Wolf's parents' house last night because Mr. Wolf wasn't feeling well and didn't drive all the way home to our house.

Mr. Wolf's mother loves animals and she even loves me.  She gave me an early Christmas present - a striped Christmas sweater.  I usually do not like to wear sweaters, but I like this sweater.  It is soft and not too tight.

I like to lounge on Mr. Wolf.

Here's another look at my new sweater.
Mr. Wolf's parents' house is much bigger than our house.  There are lots of rooms and stairs and people and cats and couches.  I like everything except the cats.  I would maybe like the cats, but they do not like me and we are not friends yet.

After snooping around the house for a while, I decided it was time to rest.

I can see you with that camera, but I would rather just snuggle in this blanket here.

Sunny Saturday in the Park

JK and Mr. Wolf and I had a very busy Saturday!
I'm ready to run!

We had to go to a different doctor today to talk about my seizures.  They took some blood from me, but I was very brave and didn't cry at all.  After they were done, JK and Mr. Wolf and I went to the park and played in the leaves.

Mr. Wolf and I ran so fast that he had to rest afterwards.  I was fine.

I get lots of kisses when Mr. Wolf is home.

Time to go home!  I will show the way!
After the doctor and the park, JK and Mr. Wolf ate some food outside, and I sat in the sunshine.  Then they had frozen yogurt and I got to lick the bowl.  JK had a plain kind and Mr. Wolf's tasted like pumpkins.  I liked the pumpkin one better.  JK says that yogurt is good for dogs!  Horray!  I hope I can have my own bowl next time.

Greetings!

Hello Blog Readers!

Auggie here.  My best friend Mr. Wolf lives far away in Quad Cities to work at a big school where he teaches new college students how to write and how to read more carefully.  I miss him a lot.  On the weekends, sometimes Mr. Wolf and his wife JK take me with them when they go on trips in the car.  This picture of me was taken while headed out to Mr. Wolf's parents' house.  I was really excited to be in the car and with my peeps.

Anyhooo, while Mr. Wolf is away during the week, JK and I thought it would be fun to send him some pictures and stories of my adventures.  I actually don't really like to have my picture taken, but JK says that Mr. Wolf misses me a lot too, so I will concede to a few photo opps per week.
