My First Guest Blogger! Comet's Christmas Recap

Greetings, blogfriends!
Today we have a special guest on the AugBlog -- my friend Comet!
Comet is going to tell us all a bit about what Christmas is like when there is a very small person living in the house. Comet is the perfect Guest Blogger for Christmas time! His name sounds just like one of Santa's reindeer.

Welcome, Comet!

These days, if it has fingerprints on it and smells like graham crackers or apple juice, it's not my toy. If it smells like 'new' and has been strewn all over the floor since Christmas, it's not my toy. If it ever wrapped up a piece of string cheese, it's not mine and isn't supposed to be on the floor anyway. If it is a blanket laying on the floor these days, it's not for me. If the blanket has an assortment of plates and tea cups and stuffed animals on it, it is a tea party and I wasn't invited. Oh, yes, once in a while, there is still a bone put out for me. And even though that is totally cliché, I'll still chew on it. Things sure have changed since this baby came to live with us. But when she scratches my belly, shares her dinner with me, or uses me as a footstool or a pillow, I can start to see why they like her so much.

Comet, it sounds like your Christmas turned out OK, even with the little person running around. I hope she drops lots of string cheese where you can reach it!

Happy 2013, everyone! I hope that Santa was as good to you as he was to me this year:

Yay! All for me!

Waiting for Santa

I know it is almost Christmas time because of all the Red and Gold and Green things that JK has put up all over the house. I thought that it had to be cold and snowy in order for it to be Christmas, but I guess not! I'm happy that it is warm and sunny instead.

I have been a very good boy this year, so I hope to get a lot of loot.

The other day at the lake trail, I was being SO good, that a lady who was walking a very loud, energetic big dog stopped my people to say "You have SUCH a well behaved little dog!". JK and Mr. Wolf laughed and thanked her. I don't know why they were laughing! Look at me waiting patiently in my "Sit!"

And I walked very calmly right past that big dog with the jangly collar:

Not only am I learning to be a very well behaved outside walker, but I've also donated to charity:

And I've learned that the white blanket that looks like snow is not for eating, digging, or pulling:

I'll just supervise while you guys clean up this messy room!

Fill 'er up, Santa! I've earned it this year!

Mr. Wolf's Day of Sick

JK was sick last week and had a scratchy throat and was achy and tired and slept a lot. She even stayed home one day so she could sleep! But as soon as she felt better, Mr. Wolf got sick.

I could tell that Mr. Wolf was even sicker than JK, and that he needed my help. He was cold and shivery and needed help to keep warm. I am excellent at warming!

Keeping Mr. Wolf warm in bed.

Leg Warmers.

Face Warmer

Sicky Snooze
Mr. Wolf still has a loud cough and he uses a lot of tissues every day, but he is feeling a bit better now, and he and JK are going to go out for dinner to celebrate his birthday. I'm glad that my family is feeling well again, but I don't mind the extra naps.

Summer Time Treats

If these are the Dog Days of summer, count me in! I'm happy to be sure that each little empty carton of Raspberry Sorbet is squeaky clean before it goes into the bin.

It's not Chocolate Fudge Brownie, but I'll survive.

Happy Auggiversary To Me!

Today JK and Mr. Wolf and I celebrated our Second Auggiversary! It has been two years since the day JK and Mr. Wolf brought me home to live with them. I didn't even remember that Auggiversary was coming up, but JK sang "Happy Auggiversary, Happy Auggiversary" to me this morning when we got up for our early walk, and I also noticed the special banner hanging in the kitchen.

My people had something special planned for tonight, so I was very excited when JK got home so we could party!

I let them take some silly pictures with the pretty banner, but I could smell that there was a special dinner in the works.

Look at that fancy dinner plate! Just for me! All my very favorite things to eat in the whole world, all on one plate!
strips of organic grilled chicken from the deli, one slice of goat cheese, my  new favorite crunchy treat, and RASPBERRIES in a star!!! The Best Dinner Ever!

I almost couldn't believe it was all for me. I ate my dinner like Mr. Wolf does - one food at a time. First Chicken, then cheese, then treat, and save the Raspberries for the last gobble.

A very Happy Auggiversary Dinner indeed! Three Cheers for Rescue Pups! Check out YOUR local rescue for the best dogfriends you will ever meet.

Hot Dog!

Hi Blogfriends!
JK entered me into a photo contest, and it would be GREAT if all my readers and friends would vote for my photo! Right now I'm in 5th place, but the contest runs until July 21, so it's not too late to Vote For AugDog!

If you're on FaceBook, please visit Woof Gang Raleigh's FaceBook page, click on the "Hot Dog" Contest album, and find ME sitting on Miss Jackie's lap, looking all tuckered out, and vote for me by clicking "Like" on my photo!

If I get the most "LIKE"s, I will WIN The fabulous prize! What is that fabulous prize, you ask? If we win, a painter will paint a portrait of ME for JK and Mr. Wolf! I've seen her paintings in the Woof Gang Bakery, and they are very bright and colorful pictures of happy dogs and cats. Wouldn't it be great to have a big painting of me? Yeah, we think so!

Vote today!

Jackie Came to Visit Me!

(Transcriber's note - Aug started this post while Jackie was visiting, but I had trouble uploading the last few photos while she was here last week)

My friend Jackie came to visit me! I am so excited that she is here! She came to see JK and Mr. Wolf as well, but she has spent a lot of time lounging with me which I like very much.

Jackie hurt her foot right before she arrived, so we have spent a lot of time on the couch together. It's great.

Miss Jackie likes to read 2 books at one time.

She's giving me bunny-ears, isn't she?
Another great thing about Jackie's visit is that she also likes cheese. In fact, we all like cheese so much, that JK bought some special cheese just to share with her while she is in town. I had never had this fancy cheese before, but luckily Jackie shared with me.

You know what else JK and Jackie like to do? They like to sit out in the sun on the porch with snacks and cool drinks. Excellent. I like that too.

My my - is that cheese you have there?

And Jackie likes to give me pets and scratches while she is working on the computer. I'll just stand right here under her so she can do that.

Miss Jackie let's me share shot-gun with her on the way to the park. Whoo-hoo! The Park!

AND Jackie lets me get comfy on her lap for the drive home, even though I am all hot and sweaty from our long walk at Lake Lynn. She even let me stick my head out of the window for a second.

Jackie had something delicious to eat on her last day in town. I was very hopeful that she would share it with me. So I waited politely for her to put her fork in the bowl...

Ya done yet?

Hoooray! Success! I got to lick the bowl and she even left me a small bit of her tasty lunch to try.

And now Miss Jackie has gone home to Chicago, so I don't need wake her up in the morning with a visit and a pounce up onto the edge of the bed.

Boo. I miss Miss Jackie.
We miss you, Miss Jackie! Come visit again soon!
