Pirates Who Don't Do Anything

To understand why JK and Mr. Wolf think this picture is sooooo funny, you need to know that Pirates in movies sometimes have talking birds sit on their shoulders. The other thing you need to know is that there is a silly movie that JK likes to watch sometimes that has singing vegetables in it. The vegetables tell stories and sing songs, and they have a song about pirates who like to sit at home and lie around.

So when I climbed up on Mr. Wolf's shoulder, JK and Mr. Wolf started singing the silly pirate song.

Do I look like a parrot to you?
They thought this was hilarious. I guess you had to be there.

We Are Not Amused.

My people have been leaving me at home while they go for a long, fast walk at night when JK gets home. They even put on their special clothes for running and tell me that they are going to run, and that my legs are too short and I cannot keep up.

That's very funny, guys, but I know you are not really running. I've seen you try to walk fast up one of these North Carolina hills. No way you can run them.

So what are you REALLY doing when you leave me at home? I bet you are eating cheese.

Getting Settled. Again.

We moved AGAIN. Yes, again. JK and Mr. Wolf and a friend of JKs put all of our boxes into a great big truck and drove us to another new house. I know that this time we are going to stay for a long time, because JK and Mr. Wolf have been busily unpacking boxes and putting everything into a proper place. I have been helping.

While Mr. Wolf took all of the paper and wrapping out of the boxes, I pushed it all into a big pile with my nose and feet. Then I took a nap in the pile. JK wanted to get a picture of me in my paper nest, but of course as soon as I heard her coming with the camera, I jumped up and stood proudly next to my paper nest. See how happy I am to show off all my hard work?

Mr. Wolf says I am a great helper.
I'm also happy to be in a place that has sidewalks. I am very hopeful that I might find some misplaced food in our neighborhood. I haven't found any yet, but JK promised me we would walk to the gas station when it gets a little warmer. She thinks there will probably be tacos and hot dogs in the dirt there like we had in Chicago.
If there is food out here, I will find it.
All the moving and unpacking and exploring make me very tired. I am glad to have the same bed and the same soft pillows that we had in the big city.
Back to work tomorrow!

Spa Day Wasn't That Bad

Me, in the back seat, not excited about the spa.

JK goes to work a lot. She leaves early in the morning, and comes home when it is already dark. But sometimes JK doesn't go to work, and she stays home with me and Mr. Wolf. I like those days when she is home with us, and we try to do fun things together. Well, Monday she got to stay home, and Mr. Wolf decided to make me an appointment at the Dog Spa. I didn't like the sound of that at first. I heard JK and Mr. Wolf talk about "baths" and "clippings", and I didn't really want to go. Even though I usually really like to ride in the car, I was not very excited about this trip to the Dog Spa. I even sat in the back seat.

JK and Mr. Wolf handed me to a nice lady who washed me up in a great big tub, with warm swirly water and nice-smelling soap. She washed my ears and clipped my nails and rubbed my fur with a warm towel.

Oooooh I smell so nice!
So, the spa wasn't that bad after all. Of course, I was eager to get home and rub my fur around on the carpet and grass and get all that soap smell off of me, but it was nice for a few minutes.

JK and Mr. Wolf declared that they love the Dog Spa because it is the only place in the world where people do not think they are crazies.
The spa lady gave me a red swirly bandanna to wear, to show that I was clean.

I look pretty handsome in it, don't you think?

I even got a report card, so JK and Mr. Wolf would know that I was a perfect gentleman at the spa, and that I was welcome to come back. JK said that if I go back, I should get a massage and a facial. I don't know what that means, but I'd give it a try. They have good treats there for after you finish your bath.

Christmas Shennanigans

I hope you all had a very good Christmas! I had a good time with JK and Mr. Wolf at Mr. Wolf's family's house. JK and I drove a long long way to get home to them, but we had a fun time once we arrived. Take a look at some of my photos from the day:
Get up guys! It's Christmas! Santa has been here!
Hey, which one of these is for me?

Yes! Score! A new flat furry!

Hold on a second there, I think that one might be for me too.

Nope. It was a calendar. Which I do not need, because my secretaries keep track of all my appointments.

Yay! A Santa Squeaker!

Yeah, I was a good boy this year.

And now it's time for some Christmas treats.

And Mr. Wolf wore a silly cat shirt that belonged to his mother.

And I just hung out on the sofa waiting for JK to help me upload these pictures for the blog.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, blogfriends!

Hard Day at the Office

I am very busy and important.

JK has to work at her office on Saturday afternoons, but she is the only person in the whole half of the building on those days, so she asked me to come along and keep her company this weekend.

I sat with her at her desk for a while so she could work on the website. She got a lot of work done, but I decided I preferred to be on the floor with Pig.

Working hard to destroy Pig.
Working at an office is hard work! How do people do this every day? We were both ready for a snooze when we got home.
Watching Clueless with JK.

Road Trip!

Greetings, Blog Friends!

My family has been on quite an adventure since the last time I blogged. JK and Mr. Wolf and I drove many many hours from our little apartment in Chicago to a little house in a place called Raleigh. I'll tell you the whole story, but with pictures....

First, I had to help JK pack up all our clothes and towels and things.
Yes! These are clean and warm and ready for packing.
Then, I had to stay out of the way when the mover men came to take all of our things out of the Chicago apartment.
Me, in the Pup Bag
I saw some CRAZY things that day while the mover men were working:
Whoa.
And then after all the cleaning and moving, Mr. Wolf and JK sat down on the floor in the empty apartment and had one last Deep Dish pizza in Chicago.

CHEESE!
Then, after spending the night at Mr. Wolf's parents' house, we got into the car and headed south.

I was the co-pilot in JK's car, and Mr. Wolf drove with his books in the seat.
It was a very very long drive, and I slept during times when I knew that JK knew where she was going.
Resting up to help navigate when she needs me.
We were going to drive straight through, but then JK and Mr. Wolf decided to stay in a hotel. The first hotel we tried was very yucky and smelled like old socks and sour milk. And the TV and internet were broken, so we moved to a new hotel. And JK and Mr. Wolf bought dinner from a place near by, and brought me a baked potato with CHEESE! My own little dinner.

I prefer my potato with both butter AND cheese
Then the next morning, we ate breakfast and got ready for the rest of the drive. JK brought me some apple and a tiny cup of peanut butter from the hotel breakfast room. Mr. Wolf helped hold the peanut butter steady so I could lick it out of the cup.
Breakfast of champions!
The second morning, we drove through some very pretty mountains and hills.
This is The South! And it is warm here!
And then we finally arrived at this little house, where we will live for a few months. JK and Mr. Wolf tell me that we are only going to stay here until we can find a place to rent for a long time, but I love this little house. It feels SO BIG compared to the Chicago apartment, and it has a long hall way to run down, and lots of closets for hiding my favorite treats for later, AND it has carpet on the floor so I can rub my face on it whenever I want. I love it here.

JK's new boss and his wife left us a care package of people treats for when we arrived in our new house. Wasn't that nice of them? JK and Mr. Wolf like treats too.
I got to share the apples!
So there you have it! Such a great adventure! I'll be sure to tell you all the stories of life in The South, since I know I have a lot to learn and many new people and dog friends to meet.
